Four of Wands, Queen of Swords, and the Seven of Swords
The reversed Four of Wands (By Cat Rocketship) tells me that you are unmoored; the stability that you once had is no longer there. The Queen of Swords (by E Lubanko) asks you to see the situation clearly and to consider what the boundaries are of what you can actually change.
The Seven of Swords (by Cat Rocketship) always throws me for a loop. Traditionally, it is supposed to represent betrayal, but I think it really depends on how the card is perceived. If you are on the thief's side, you see a hero; if you are on the army's side, you see betrayal. If you are on the side of peace, you see a situation where physical violence might be averted because there just aren’t enough weapons to go around. Or perhaps it amounts to nothing, as stealing five swords from an enemy army gets you exactly nowhere…
People act with intention, and we all know that stealing five swords from an army won’t make a difference. The situation must represent something else. I like to imagine there will be a duel tomorrow, and what if the few people involved suddenly lost their weapons?
We often get pushed into moments that feel fated. Despite what we actually want, we are forced to follow social rules or roles that lead us in a different direction. We are trapped. What if this card is about a second chance? Perhaps two people feel compelled to fight for “honor” even if they don’t desire to. Then, at dawn, their weapons are mysteriously missing. Thus, our dualists get another chance at peace (and life!) because they “can’t” fight. A convenient excuse that lets them out of their social trappings.
Questions to ask: What has you feeling unmoored? What caused it? Is it within your realm of control? Have you drawn appropriate boundaries around what you can and cannot control? Do you feel forced into an untenable position by social pressure? What nudge would you need to get out? What decisions do you make differently if you get a second chance?
